OIP Style - The 6 Biggest Trends This Spring/Summer

A new leaf has turned and beautiful flowers blossom. New season means new looks! It can always be tricky, deciding what season trends will suit or look good on you. Unfortunately we can’t all have the confidence to pull every runway look or style; We’ll leave that to the sartorial street stylers. What better way to play tribute to this season’s Spring and Summer ‘17’ looks, through a 90's SATC inspired shoot on the gorgeous rooftop bar of the Imperial Hotel. It wasn’t the sunniest of days but all eyes were on our impeccable models and the fun and colourful outfits, carefully styled by contemporary vintage collective OUMA and striking ear pieces by Alicia Dash The 6 biggest Spring/Summer trends! Romancing: We love a little romance with some lace, pastel colours, ruffles anything light, delicate and ethereal goes Flower power: More floral, more bold, more colourful prints. This spring trend has been seen in more styles than one, from 70's hippy to head to toe flower power, to the modern soft floral print. Floral for any and perhaps your next occasion? Overexposed: There are no rules when it comes to the trend. The key is not to go too tight or body hugging. Loose sheer shirts or tops paired with pants or sheer slips over jeans for a cool take on the look. Big jackets and blazers are also a great way to tone down midriff tops, should you be brave enough to bare the belly. Stripes: Making a big statement in pant and jacket combinations all over the cat walk, of course we don’t expect you all to do the same, we can opt for a casual striped pant, sweater or jacket. If you don’t want to hold back though, by all means! Likes of Mulberry and Proenza Schouler have done just that. Layering: This trend has been popular among catwalks and street style and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. T-shirts, under slips dresses, shirts under tube tops, adding more texture and depth to any outfit has never been easier. 80's baby: Looking (high) shinier than ever, the 80’s look is back and with vengeance, lots of volume and big fabrics and shoulders, synched waists and wide belts, these looks too big to be forgotten.
