Karyn from Peekaboo Parties was asked to create a gorgeous First Birthday for little Layla. Layla's Mum couldn't decide on a theme. She didn’t want anything too girly and pastel nor any of the more popular themes such as Princess or Unicorn. She was inspired by an image she saw on Instagram of some bright colourful pom poms and decided that since it was Winter time, what better way to brighten up a dreary Winter’s day but with some adorable pom poms!
She chose a colour scheme of magenta, orange, purple, turquoise, light pink and gold. Karyn began by creating a woollen hanging backdrop and hung it behind a round pom pom embellished sign with gold acrylic custom made ‘one’ overlay. She hung a series of tissue paper honeycombs above the backdrop to further emphasize the pom pom theme. Other pom pom inspired decorations included a pom pom embellished “Layla’ and “1”, party hats, pom pom ‘flowers’, a pom pom photo frame with a photo of beautiful Layla and bundles of pom poms on the table.
The pom pom theme was further emphasized with the food which included pom pom cake pops, chocolate ‘lolly pops’, jelly cups topped with pink chocolate pom poms and mini layer cakes with pom pom toppers and round iced ‘Layla’ cookies decorated with gold leaf. The centerpiece was a stunning raspberry mousse cake created by Burch & Purchase which was displayed on an acrylic stand filled with mini balloons and pom poms.
On the day the children were entertained by Fairy Freckles and Friends who performed a magic show, played games, danced and created super balloon creations for each child.
