We love unique birthday themes, and this cacti themed party, is certainly among our favourites, styled beautifully by Style Me Gorgeous in celebration of her son’s sixth birthday.
Here’s what Sarah shared about planning this party:
Max decided he wanted Taco’s for our family dinner to celebrate his 6th birthday, and since his favourite shirt is his minti cactus shirt I thought it would be fun to design some cactus theme printables and do a little dessert table for him.
I am often inspired by my kids drawings, I love to see how they interpret things and add their own little quirky ideas, so I got Max involved and we did some cactus drawings together in the school holidays, I used parts of our collaboration artwork to create the cactus characters on the party invitations.
Frosted by Nicci made some matching cookies for us, and I made a simple chocolate cake, decorated with card cutouts of the cacti.
The potted cactus rocks were a quick and easy little DIY I found here.
I think its nice to think of different ways to present food, I always try and use things I already have at home to keep costs down and had these pallet style boxes sitting in the shed that my husband had brought home from work thinking we might use them for something…. he was right, they were perfect to display the treats and cake!
