OIP Editorial: French Riviera

OUI OUI!

As our summer in Melbourne comes to a cold and dwindling end, the team at OIP HQ decided to take a quick day trip to pay tribute to the Mediterranean summers of the aristocratic French Riviera. Obviously, we couldn’t do a day trip to Saint Tropez, so the next best place (and just over an hour away!) was our sister city - Sydney!

A quick, early morning flight to Sydney was all it took for us to bring our mood board (inspired by the magic of southern France) alive. There’s just something about the glistening blue water in the Sydney Harbour that allows us to be transported to the French Riviera. With the help of Langham Sydney in Millers Point (that perfect touch of luxury in our makeshift office for the day) our vision was transformed into reality and we were transported to our intended location of Côte d’Azur. As usual, Sydney brought the goods with some glorious weather, and a dream team to help us bring it all together!

The mood board all began with the classic red, white and blues of France, we wanted to incorporate the expected “Oh It’s Perfect” touch to all of our editorials - through our desserts spread and decor as per usual. The balloons supplied on the day was set up by the amazing mother and son team of Pink Mix Parties; the amazing custom signage was designed and laser cut by Glistening Occasions; the gorgeous floral arrangements were put together by Events Florist and a huge array of desserts including an Eiffel Tower cookie cake from Dessert Inc., custom colour matching cake pops from The Sugar Co., custom colour matching Macaron Stacks from Dous Dolce, Eiffel Tower Meringues from Mybella Meringues, cute French Riviera-inspired mini donuts from Call Me Ginger and a superb mousse cake from Little Choux Box.

But don’t think that the fun and festivities stopped there, because life is too short to not have a chance to celebrate and have fun at work - and that was only possible thanks to Chandon providing us with their fan favourite Sparkling Wines (Did you know that they’re made in Melbourne?! Their winery is in the Yarra Valley!) - an Australian classic: Chandon Brut, the fun, elegant and vibrant aperitif: Chandon Brut Rosé and their newest aperitif baby to the collection; Chandon S - served best over ice with a twist of orange.

Now that we had the party sorted, we couldn’t forget the models! The girls had their makeup done by Lianne Claire Makeup and Hair and their hair styled by Hair by PHD in partnership with Schwarzkopf Professional. We went with the classic French red lip, with a bronzed complexion and a sharp liner to keep things classically French! Cassandra was channelling a low slung ponytail with soft bangs and subtly channelling Bridget Bardot and Brianna had gorgeous beach waves styled with headscarves from GE the Label. They were dressed in classic cuts and silhouettes from Anthea Crawford, footwear from Alias Mae and the straw bag, earrings and sunglasses from Tommy Undone.

All in all, it was a tremendous effort from all involved - the biggest thank you from Team OIP and we loved being Sydney-siders for the one day! Adieu, for now, Sydney, we will be back soon for some more fun in the near future!
