You know how the old saying goes, blue and green should never be seen without mass amounts of dessert in between. Wait, what? Your telling me that’s not how the saying goes? Well, Creating Beautiful had me fooled with this stunning tropical beach inspired set up.
Created for a joint 1st and 30th birthday, we can’t get enough of that lush tropical greenery paired with that baby blue hue. The balloon garland is phenomenal, and we love the touch of celebration the confetti coated cake pops and donuts add to the set up.
When discussing the event with Creating Beautiful‘s co-owners Bree and Felicity, they recalled – ‘When we met our lovely client (and her gorgeous little boy) she had expressed her love for the colour blue, balloons, florals and desserts! A perfect base to start designing a concept. We threw around ideas on how we would like to display the desserts that was super cool and unique to anything we had seen. As the venue is by the water we knew tropical foliage would work in nicely with the surroundings, so a tropical leaf wall was created. Our balloon obsession continues as we crafted a sculpture-like installation around the green goodness wall. We used varying shades of blue making the backdrop really pop.
We worked with a bunch of talented artisan bakers for the sweet stuff. Picture syringe-stabbed doughnuts, old school vanilla cookies, cake balls and smooth sorbet popstics.
Being a first birthday we styled a play area for the tiny tots using a jute rug and eco wooden toys. Lush blue hydrangea were for the adults to adore, topping off a beautiful first birthday & surprise thirtieth.’
